ORLANDO, Fla. — State health officials said Monday that they’ve linked another 72 deaths to the coronavirus pandemic. That brings Florida’s death toll to 10,534.
While the number of deaths reported in the state’s daily data increased from Sunday’s total of 51, the daily total of COVID-19 cases statewide decreased.
Monday’s data revealed 2,258 new coronavirus cases; on Sunday, the state noted 2,974 additional cases of the virus.
The total number of cases now stands at 602,829, since testing began earlier this year.

Six of the most recent COVID-19 related deaths happened in Central Florida, including three in Polk County, two in Marion County and one in Seminole County.
