Friday afternoon: Another round of storms crosses Central Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. — Afternoon update:

Meteorologist Kassandra Crimi said Friday will be a warm day with another round of showers and thunderstorms.

Fast-moving downpours will slide west to east this afternoon.

Once the showers reach the coastline, interaction with the sea breeze could fire a few thunderstorms.

Some of our beach communities could see one inch of rain and even more this afternoon.

Morning forecast:

Friday’s forecast calls for a mix of sun and clouds as well as a chance of rain or storms in Central Florida.

Channel 9 meteorologist Brian Shields said there’s a 40% chance of showers or storms on Friday and a high temperatures of 87.

Saturday’s forecast calls for lots of sun and highs in the upper 80s. On Sunday, more storms are expected to move through in the afternoon bringing cooler temperatures for Monday.
