Fruitland Park police chief resigns following complaint

FRUITLAND PARK, Fla. — The Fruitland Park police chief has resigned following a complaint filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Channel 9 learned.

Chief Terry Isaacs was brought in four years ago after former chief Mark Isom was fired for buying fake college degrees. But now it's Isaacs who is at the center of the city's latest scandal.

Isaacs talked to Eyewitness News in the summer of 2014 following an investigation into two of his officers for allegedly having ties to the KKK.

"If you lose your credibility as a police officer, you're no good to me, you're no good to the community," Isaacs said.

Isaacs was put on administrative leave on Monday in connection with the complaint filed by one of his officers. The specific allegations in the complaint haven't been made public.

WFTV contacted Isaacs for comment about his resignation, but did not hear back.
