The goal of the one-stop support center is to help break the cycle of poverty.

“We’re investing in existing programs for the homeless, and those who are living paycheck to paycheck,” Heart of Florida United Way President and CEO Jeff Hayward said.

Annually, the Heart of Florida United Way helps more than 400,000 people through direct services and its funded programs.

Now, with the Live United Village, those services will be expanded.

“Computer classes, for example,” Hayward explained. “Come in here, learn how to use a computer, use it to find a job, use it to do your job. It gives them, really from soup to nuts, from literally taking a shower, all the way up to how do I break this cycle?”

With the opening of the Live United Village, anyone experiencing financial hardship can get help getting back on their feet through job training, job searches, and stable housing.

In addition to the unveiling of Live United Village, Heart of Florida United Way announced its largest ever investment in a partner program.
