DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Managers of a beachside hotel fined nearly $5,000 by police for an excessive number of calls talked to Eyewitness News Friday.
Since February, Daytona Beach police said they've gotten 10 reports of break-ins and thefts at The Mayan Inn on Atlantic Avenue.
Hotel managers said they never received a letter from police about the incidents.
They said guests' safety is always a priority and that they've added extra security.
Managers said they will gladly pay the fine if they receive the letter.
