BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash in Cocoa Thursday that left a man dead and another injured.
Troopers were called to the intersection of U.S. Highway 1 and Cidco Road just after 3 p.m. for reports of a single car crash.

According to FHP, the driver, identified only as a 19-year-old man from Merritt Island, was southbound on US 1 when he lost control and hit a median.
Troopers say the driver overcorrected and ended up hitting a curb, causing his 2006 Subaru Impreza to begin flipping.

The car eventually came to a stop after the drivers side collided with a fence and a tree.
The driver died at the scene, according to FHP.
A passenger, also identified as a 19-year-old man from Merritt Island, was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries.
The investigation into what caused to the driver to lose control is ongoing.
According to an FHP crash report, neither the driver nor his passenger were wearing their seatbelts.
