ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Tuesday marks one full week since Orange County students returned to the classroom and COVID-19 cases are on the rise.
Overnight, the district’s COVID-19 dashboard showed that more than 200 confirmed student cases of COVID-19 were reported on Monday.

The dashboard shows that Timber Creek High School reported the most COVID-19 cases so far, with 22 cases. Seventeen of the 22 positive cases are students.
The school district has reported more than 600 cases among students and teachers since the first day of school.

On Monday, 238 student cases were added to the dashboard, which is up from 97 cases reported on Friday.
OCPS said the data on the dashboard may lag.
At the latest OCPS meeting, school board members discussed using this week’s emergency work session to review the health and safety procedures manual.

“The only thing that this board and superintendent are trying to do is keep our students safe and in school,” said Linda Kobert, an Orange County school board member.
The district said it will continue to monitor its current 30-day opt-out mask policy.
