Orange County to provide another $30M in CARES Act funding

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health has now recorded more than 717,000 cases of the coronavirus and more than 14,800 deaths.

Across Central Florida, Orange County was the only one to have more than 100 new cases reported Monday.

Despite the numbers, Orange County leaders said the county is on the right track.

But the economy is still trying to climb its way back.

Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings announced another $30 million dollars of CARES Act funding, the government’s coronavirus relief bill, will go towards helping people who are still struggling.

Already, eviction help for owners and renters has been offered, with the county handing out $700,000 for 209 people to stay in their homes.
