ORLANDO, Fla. — A mother of three says her family lost everything when a fire tore through her apartment complex.

Now several local organizations are teaming up to help her and dozens of others forced out of their homes before Christmas.

The fire happened at Jernigan Gardens off Mercy Drive in Orlando earlier this month, ripping through eight apartment units.

The Salvation Army, Goodwill Industries and the Mustard Seed of Central Florida are promising to provide some much needed belongings to those who lost everything.

“What we are going to be able to provide for those families that have lost everything in the fire will be all of the furniture all of the linens and rugs and dishes and pots and pans everything they need,” said Kathy Baldwin, with the Mustard Seed.

Many of the families who were displaced by the fire will be placed in empty apartments starting Friday.
