ORLANDO, Fla. — An Orlando firefighter was taken to the hospital after suffering burns while responding to an occupied home that caught fire Sunday.
Officials said the firefighter suffered minor burns while battling the house fire on Monte Carlo Trail.

Firefighters were called to the home at around 5:48 p.m. with reports of two people inside.
Our crews responded to this house fire on Monte Carlo Trail just before 6pm with two occupants. One was transported to the hospital, while the other refused treatment. Officials said one person was taken to the hospital under advanced life support and the other person refused treatment.

The Central Florida Red Cross, Orlando Police Department and Orlando Utility Commission all assisted the Orlando Fire Department with this incident.
Officials said bars on the windows and hurricane glass caused two firefighters to be partially trapped during a search as heavy fire spread.
Firefighters outside the home worked with rotary saws and opened up the area to help them escape.
The home was heavily damaged by smoke and fire.
Fire investigators are working to determine the cause the of blaze.
