Orlando to hold ribbon-cutting ceremony to open SODO Urban Trail

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando city leaders will be out Thursday for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of a new park.

The ceremony will mark the opening of the new SODO Urban Trail.

The new trail brings Orlando closer to being one of the most pedestrian and bike-friendly cities in the country.

The trail runs along South Division Avenue with a spur along Columbia Street that connects to the Orlando Amtrak station.

Key features of the trail include LED lighting, park benches, luminescent sidewalk pebbles, shaded trellises, native landscaping and shade trees, decorative crosswalks and informative trail markers.

City leaders will be on South Division Avenue at 10:30 a.m. to celebrate the opening.
