Orlando Magic and Florida Blue announced the program during the 2020-2021 basketball season to honor their commitment to the Central Florida community.

And for every block that was made during that season, Florida Blue agreed to donate 10 meals to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.

Magic fans also helped donate additional meals by rounding up their purchases of snacks and concession items.

They donated a total of over 11,700 meals that season.

During the free event, guests enjoyed other activities, like face painting, and learned about community resources, like voter registration.

But this event also shed light on food insecurity and brought awareness to hunger issues in the Central Florida area.

“Between the pandemic and continuing rise of food costs, our neighbors need our help and support like never before,” said Tony Jenkins, Central Florida Market president for Florida Blue. “Florida Blue and our Florida Blue Foundation is proud to step up in these difficult and challenging times.”
