Report sheds light on timeline, causes of death for family of 4 found dead after murder-suicide in Orange County home

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — New information released by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office provide details on when an Orange County family was last seen and how each of the four family members died.

An incident report says that officials were asked to provide a wellness check after Customs and Border Protection Officer Ezequiel Almodovar hadn’t reported to work in two days.

The report states Almodovar, after 11 years working at Orlando airport, was scheduled to transfer to the Jacksonville port on Feb. 16. When he didn’t show up for two days, his new coworkers requested the wellness check.

Deputies said two cars were parked in his family’s driveway on Corner Glen Drive when they arrived Thursday, Feb. 20, but no one answered the door.

Investigators went to East River High School, where Ezequiel Almodovar’s eldest son, Ezequiel Ariel Almodovar, was a student. The receptionist said the 16-year-old hadn’t been in school since the week before.

The school district said both Ezequiel and Almodovar’s 12-year-old son Gabriel had been absent from school since Feb. 14.

The border agent, who went by “Zeke” on social media, posted Feb. 18 that he was “feeling thankful” with his family at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
