SEE: Cinderella Castle to get golden makeover; here’s why

BAY LAKE, Fla. — The Magic Kingdom’s Cinderella Castle will receive a makeover in honor of the 70th anniversary of the release of the animated classic “Cinderalla,” Walt Disney World said Monday.

Conceptual artwork released Monday appears to show the park’s iconic centerpiece with dark blue turrets and gold trim.

“You may notice this exciting work taking place as these stunning enhancements begin in the coming weeks, continuing through summer,” said Jason Kirk, the park’s vice president, in a blog post. “But don’t worry. We’ll still get to catch all of our castle favorites, like ‘Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire’ and ‘Happily Ever After.’”
