What should Lake Eola Park look like in the future? Voice your opinion

ORLANDO, Fla. — Do you have thoughts on what Lake Eola Park should look like in the future? The city of Orlando wants your input.

The city is in the process of working to re-envision the park looking ahead to the next 50 years through its master plan process.

City officials said the process will help determine the physical changes to to the park as well as “guide the park’s place in the context of the larger downtown, city and region.”

In the 1980s, the park underwent a $3.3 million renovation that added much of what visitors see today, including the bandshell, Japanese garden and the ting, a Chinese pagoda-like structure.

Starting Oct. 22, the city is set to host a series of community and stakeholder engagement opportunities, including a citywide survey, to gather input on the park’s future.

The kickoff meeting will be at 6 p.m. Oct. 22.

The city’s website says the final master plan report is scheduled to be done in March 2021.
