DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — A 9-year-old boy died and his father remains hospitalized after Daytona Beach police said they were hit by a car while trying to cross an intersection Monday night.
Police said Anthony Altamirano, 9, and his father, Miguel Leoner, 27, were on the west side of Nova Road crossing to the east side against the traffic signal.

A driver, who had a green light, hit the father and son when they walked in front of the vehicle, police said.
No one is facing charges in the incident.
Daytona PD says the driver stopped after the crash. Ofcs say the driver had a green light while the boy and his father tried to cross.
