ORLANDO, Fla. — After a relatively quiet start to the weekend, a vigorous storm system will be developing Saturday in the Gulf of Mexico, Channel 9 certified chief meteorologist Tom Terry said.

The system will bring widespread rain and possibly severe storms starting late Saturday afternoon through late Saturday evening, Terry said.
Then, a strong cold front will sweep through around daybreak Sunday with a second line of scattered thunderstorms, again, possibly severe.

Sunday afternoon and evening look gusty, but drier, Terry said.
Saturday afternoon and evening through Sunday morning will be Weather Alert Days, Terry said.
