SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Officials in Seminole County are warning residents about a scam providing fake tickets to receive COVID-19 vaccines.
According to law enforcement, the website, Event Brite was allowing people to schedule appointments to receive a COVID-19 vaccine with a ticket but the booking is fraudulent. The fake listing was quickly taken down.

Officials said appointments should only be made through trusted links at PrepareSeminole.org.
Deputies said people have been told to report any fake COVID-19 vaccine events to Event Brite.
Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody is warning resident about these type of scams targeting senior citizens, according to a consumer alert posted on the attorney general’s website.

The warning says scammers pose as county health departments on sites such as Event Brite in an attempt to take payments in exchange for a COVID-19 vaccine appointment.
As for the fake appointment times for the Oviedo Mall officials said it’s unclear what they were looking to get since the event was listed as free.
