Support pours in for Casselberry baker who refused to make anti-gay marriage cake

CASSELBERRY, Fla. — Support has been pouring in for a Seminole County Baker who said she has been living in fear after she refused to make an anti-gay marriage cake.

Threats had been made against the owner of Cut the Cake bakery, but now, she's getting donations and flowers in support of her decision.

Ever since former pastor Joshua Feuerstein posted video of his phone call with Sharon Haller, recording the incident, Haller said she's been afraid to answer her phone.

On Friday, Haller told WFTV that she's "afraid they are going to come after me personally. I am afraid they are going to come after my business."

But since WFTV reported the story on Friday, Haller's business has raised more than $13,000 on a GoFundMe page, which has been shared hundreds of times.

One person wrote, "I pray every night that you will soon be back up and running with more sales than ever."

Another supporter hoped they will "be able to get back to business as usual without worrying every time the phone rings."

Haller said a vendor brought her flowers to show support.

Feuerstein was trying to prove a point about gay marriage when he asked Haller to make a cake that would have read, "We do not support gay marriage."

But after the former pastor posted the private conversation online along with Haller's name, his supporters started calling with so many threats, that the Casselberry police officers began patrolling the business.
