BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Brevard County investigators said a suspected killer who was out on bond is back in jail on Monday.
Benjamin Carter was arrested again because of comments and pictures he posted on Facebook and Twitter, authorities said.
Katina Lamb said she can sleep better knowing one of the teenagers suspected of murdering her 16-year-old son Joseph Lamb is back behind bars.
"I've been praying every day that he do something, slip up and do something so they can get him back in there," said Katina Lamb.
In October, Judge Charles Roberts allowed Carter out of jail on $50,000 bond, with the conditions that he stay on home confinement and not associate with known gang members.
The decision devastated Lamb's grieving mother.
"I don't think it's fair that my son is six-and-a-half feet under and he was walking around like nothing was wrong," said Katina Lamb.
But recently, the Brevard County Sheriff's Office's Game Over task force found pictures of Carter with known gang members and flashing gang signs on his Facebook and Twitter page.
The sheriff's office has been using social media more and more to investigate gang activity. When they came across Carter's images, the judge revoked his bond and Carter was locked up.
Katina Lamb said she's glad it was the websites and not another shooting that forced authorities to act.
"To shoot somebody else's child, that would have been even more devastating, but thank God he is where he deserves. He is where he deserves," she said.
WFTV spoke with a member of the Game Over task force who said it's not that hard to find gang activity on social media websites, and a lot of times the suspects don't think there is anyone out there watching them.
