An Orlando-area Starbucks has become the Seattle-based coffee chain’s first Central Florida store to form a union.

Workers at the 305 E. Mitchell Hammock Road location in Oviedo for Starbucks (Nasdaq: SBUX) won a June 9 election 24-6 to form a union, according to the National Labor Relations Board. There were 42 eligible voters and 30 total ballots returned.
That store will be part of Starbucks Workers United, which is part of Service Employees International Union’s affiliate, Workers United. The Oviedo unit will represent 39 employees.
