ORLANDO, Fla. — There are signs that tropical development is increasing across the Atlantic Basin this weekend.

The main area that Severe Weather Center 9 is watching is a tropical wave in the central Atlantic.
By next week, meteorologist George Waldenberger said this has a chance of becoming a tropical depression.

Either way, he said this will mean watching the further development and ultimate track into Labor Day weekend and beyond.
Waldenberger said there is a lot of uncertainty and a long time to watch, so be sure to stay updated.

There is a weak disturbance in the western Caribbean that we will be monitoring, and it’s looking to stay south.
There is also a disturbance that is likely to emerge off the west coast of Africa. We may be watching that one for the next two weeks.
