Troopers investigate deadly crash involving reported stolen car full of teens

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Florida state troopers are investigating a deadly crash involving a reportedly stolen car with several teenagers inside.

State troopers said a teenager in a car, that had been reported stolen, ran a red light, and caused another car to flip, killing the driver inside.

The crash happened Sunday morning on Dean Road near State Road 408.

FHP says there were six teenagers inside of the car when they hit and killed a man near the busy intersection in Orange County.

Patricia Ortega, who lost her son Christopher in a motorcycle crash in the same area last year, was at the scene to clean up her son’s site Sunday.

Ortega said she was not surprised there was another deadly crash here.

According to investigators, the reportedly stolen car struck a Toyota 4Runner around 4:30 a.m. after running a red light.

The driver of the Toyota, a 23-year-old Palm Coast man, was killed.

Troopers said all of the teenagers were taken to a hospital.

Investigators said all the teens in the stolen Hyundai were between 16-year-old and 13 years old.

Troopers said there is an active investigation into the crash.
