UCF students gather to buy Peach Bowl tickets

Hundreds of University of Central Florida students camped out on campus trying to get discounted tickets to the Peach Bowl.
Tickets went on sale at 9 a.m. Monday, but students began to gather about midnight.
The first 500 students got vouchers for $50, but that price is only for Student Knights Club members.
The vouchers can be exchanged for tickets once they get to the Mercedes-Benz stadium in Atlanta where the Knights will take on Auburn’s Tigers.
The price for remaining tickets will be $150.
“It’s been great. A lot of people showed up. It’s a great turnout and I hope the game is just as good,” said student Dakota Willey.

The Peach Bowl game will be the second time in school history that UCF will play in one of the major bowl games.
It’ll be the 50th playing of the Peach Bowl and the first since the Georgia Dome was replaced by the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
UCF beat Baylor in the Fiesta Bowl in 2013, but did not win a game the following year.
The Knights will put their undefeated season on the line when they play Auburn on New Year’s Day.
The last time UCF faced Auburn was in 1999.
UCF student Craig Carrier was one of the hundreds of students who waited nearly a day for a chance to buy a ticket.
Spending that much time to get tickets to the Peach Bowl was well worth it, he said.
"The other prices are, like, $150-200," Carrier said. "This is going to be the fastest-selling bowl game. Like, you have to get your tickets now, so $50 is worth it to maybe fail a couple of finals. Why not, right?"
