DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Plans are being made to transport the man accused of shooting a Daytona Beach police officer in the head back to Volusia County.
Police said they found the suspected shooter, Othal Wallace, hiding out in a treehouse in rural Georgia with guns, ammunition and body armor.
Officials said Wallace could be brought back to the Volusia County Jail as soon as this week.
At last check, officer Jason Raynor remains in critical condition at Halifax Health.
Police Chief Jakari Young said Saturday morning Raynor was showing enough signs of improvement that his doctors felt comfortable moving forward with more testing.
