White Castle Vice President Jamie Richardson said that burgers are an American innovation, and the fast-food chain is proud of having introduced this iconic sandwich to many people over the years.

“We believe it’s a universal truth that putting 100% beef patties on a perfectly baked bun is just as delicious today as it was back in 1921,” Richardson said.

In 1921, White Castle created the original slider; after that, the hamburger kept its place as an American classic.
