Suspect shot during shootout with police at Orlando apartment complex

ORLANDO, Fla. — A second suspect accused of opening fire on officers at an Orlando apartment complex has been arrested.

A gunfight between the men and the officers erupted when police were called to an apartment complex on Cinderlane Parkway in the Rosement area after complaints of drug activity Tuesday evening.

Police said that the officers encountered two men and that one of the men immediately pulled out a gun and began firing shots at the officers.

One witness told WFTV that they thought they heard 10 to 15 shots.

"'Pop, pop, pop, pop, pop!' Then, one last little pop. Then a couple of minutes later, all of this happened," said one witness.

According to police, at least one of the officers returned fire, hitting one of the men in the shoulder. The second man ran away, but was later found hiding in a unit at the Preserve Apartments in Rosemont.

When the man wouldn't come out, officers deployed tear gas and were then able to take him into custody.

"I just believe that God has been protecting me and keeping me. I could have been right there. I understand he ran right there near where my apartment is," said neighbor Angela Stanley.

Officers escaped unharmed, but the suspect who was shot was taken to the hospital.

Police released the identities of the two men Wednesday afternoon.

Sadiki Allwood, 22, is charged with two counts of attempted murder on a law enforcement officer, two counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Makabee Seow, 28, is charged with resisting officer without violence, possession of cannabis less than 20 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
