“We’re telling the Mexican Pizza fan story – in song!” reads an event preview on Taco Bell’s TikTok page. “Tune in for the live premiere of #MexicanPizzaTheMusical to celebrate with fans like you who helped bring it back.”

The news comes less than one month after the fast-food chain announced that the dish, which was discontinued in 2020, will return to menus on May 19.

The musical was inspired by Doja Cat, who posted a Mexican Pizza-themed jingle on TikTok in March, and comedian Victor Kunda, who made a parody video based on the rapper’s viral song, Entertainment Weekly reported.

Hannah Friedman wrote the musical’s script, while Grammy Award winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear wrote the score, according to the news outlets.
