According to WPBF, the apparent murder-suicide occurred in the Boca Teeca Condominium residence of a 91-year-old woman whose family had ventured to Florida to celebrate her birthday.

Police confirmed that the names of the gunman and victims are being withheld under the state’s Marsy’s Law, WPTV-TV reported.

The Boca Raton Police Services described the scene in a news release as a “domestic related murder-suicide.”

A shooting at the residence was reported at around 3:18 p.m. EDT, however, and responding officers found one wounded victim outdoors who had been struck in the head with a firearm, a second victim who had been shot by a family member before he fled the residence, a female victim dead inside the home and the suspected gunman, also dead inside the home from a self-inflicted gunshot, WPBF reported.

According to police, the gunman is believed to have been staying in the 91-year-old matriarch’s condo without permission, and the other family members arrived at the residence for a planned vacation, WPTV reported.

Investigators determined that the third victim located had been the first family member to arrive, and it was not immediately clear when she was killed. When the other two victims arrived on Sunday, they were unable to enter the home and texted the woman who was already dead inside the condo, the TV station reported.

The second victim received a text back from the woman’s phone, however, telling the pair to use an unlocked side door, and the gunman attacked them as they made their way inside the home, WPTV reported.

According to WPBF, police are still investigating a motive and the manner of death for the third victim found.
