What to know before you go to Star Wars Weekends

Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Disney's Hollywood Studios, fans of the Star Wars Sagas come together for five weekends of fun.

At this year's Star Wars Weekends guests will find more celebrities, special entertainment, highly themed dining options, Star Wars Character meet & greet opportunities, event merchandise, and more.

Star Wars Weekends: Celebrities

Each Star Wars Weekends a bevy of Star Wars Celebrities and characters will be part of special shows, presentations, autographs, and more.

There are three ways to catch up with the visiting celebrities during Star Wars Weekends:

  • Autograph SessionsSpecial FastPass is required! 
  • Legends of the Force – A celebrity motorcade featuring a galaxy of favorite Star Wars Characters and actors 
  • Stars of the Saga – A talk show and Q&A hosted by James Arnold Taylor—voice of Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: The Clone Wars andStar Wars Rebels—with a special pre-show featuring everyone's favorite stormtroopers

If you are interested in getting an autograph from one of the Star Wars celebrities, you will want to arrive extremely early to Disney's Hollywood Studios!

Weekend 2: May 22 to 24, 2015

Weekend 5: June 12 to 14, 2015

  • Frank Oz (Voice of Yoda - Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace; Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones; Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith; Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back; and Star Wars: Episode VI: Return of the Jedi) Will not be participating in autograph opportunities, but you'll be able to see him in the "Legends of the Force" motorcade and hear from him during celebrity talk shows.

Star Wars Weekends: Entertainment

There are several Star Wars Weekends Entertainment options that include behind the scenes looks at the Star Wars Sagas and Star Wars Rebels Series. 

Legends of the Force: Star Wars Celebrity Motorcade (Every weekend – 11:00 am) 

Where: Hollywood Boulevard  

Description: Catch a glimpse of your favorite Star Wars Characters and celebrities visiting for Star Wars Weekends. The Motorcade begins at the front of the park and concludes with a short show on the Star Wars Weekends Stage. Motorcade viewing for guests with disabilities is located in specified areas along Hollywood Boulevard. 

Tip: Make sure you line up early along the Motorcade route to get a great spot.

Padawan Mind Challenge (Kids edition featuring Ezra & Sabine Every weekend 12:15 pm & 4:15 pm) 

Where: Star Wars Weekends Stage (In front of The Great Movie Ride) 

Description: Your hosts, Ezra & Sabine from Star Wars Rebels, lead a series of interactive Star Wars trivia challenges geared towards kids ages 4 to 11.   

Tip: If your child would like to participate, make sure that you arrive early to sign up! The Event Information Table near the ABC Sound Studio.

Padawan Mind Challenge (Family Edition featuring Ashley Eckstein Every weekend 2:30 pm & 6:00 pm) 

Where: Star Wars Weekends Stage (In front of The Great Movie Ride) 

Description: Your host, Ashley Eckstein, leads a series of interactive Star Wars trivia challenges for families.   

Tip: You don't need to be close to the Star Wars Weekends Stage to participate, but it is definitely more fun!

Star Wars Rebels (Every weekend – 1:45 pm)

Where: Theater of the Stars (Beauty and the Beast Stage) 

Description: James Arnold Taylor hosts this look at Star Wars Rebels that includes the fascinating art of voice acting, as utilized throughout the Star Wars saga and beyond. 

Tip: Make sure you look to see if FastPass+ is available for the show, but there will be walk-up space available.

Stormtrooper Pre Show at Stars of the Saga (Every weekend – 3:15 pm)

Where: Theater of the Stars (Beauty and the Beast Stage) 

Description: Make sure you arrive early for Stars of the Saga to catch some hijinks with Stormtroopers! 

Tip: I know you're wondering why in the world a pre-show would be listed as its own listing, but if you love Stormtroopers you won't want to miss this!

Stars of the Saga (Every weekend – 3:30 pm)

Where: Theater of the Stars (Beauty and the Beast Stage) 

Description: This 30 minute Star Wars themed talk show hosted by James Arnold Taylor is a look inside the lives of the weekly visiting Star Wars Celebrities.  

Tip: This is an incredibly popular show, so you will definitely want to check for FastPass+ availability or arrive early to wait in the stand-by line.

An Ewok Tale – My Short Story (Weekends 2 & 3 only -  5:15 pm)

Where: Theater of the Stars (Beauty and the Beast Stage) 

Description: Warwick Davis takes us along as he remembers his experiences as an Ewok. 

Tip: Again this is an incredibly popular show, so you will definitely want to check for FastPass+ availability or arrive early to wait in the stand-by line.

Visit to the Maul (Weekend 4 only -  5:15 pm)

Where: Theater of the Stars (Beauty and the Beast Stage) 

Description:  This 30 minute show really delves into the preparation that Ray Park put into the Darth Maul role. There is also a chance for several children to get a lightsaber lesson from Ray. 

Tip: If your child would like to participate, make sure that you arrive early to sign up! The Event Information Table near the ABC Sound Studio.

A Conversation with Frank Oz (Weekend 5 only – 5:15 pm)

Where: Theater of the Stars (Beauty and the Beast Stage) 

Description: Frank Oz, the voice of Yoda, makes a rare appearance to talk about his experiences in Star Wars. 

Tip: This show will be INCREDIBLY popular, so if you do not have a FastPass+ for his show make sure you arrive extra early to jump in the stand-by line.

Obi Wan and Beyond (Every weekend – 7:00 pm)

Where: Theater of the Stars (Beauty and the Beast Stage) 

Description: The talented Star Wars Weekends Host James Arnold Taylor is an accomplished voice actor, and during this show he gives you a behind the scene look at the 200 popular and iconic characters he has voiced. 

Tip: While it isn't Star Wars focused, this show is incredibly fun and a fan favorite!

DJ Lobot Dance Party (Every weekend – 7:00 pm)

Where: Star Wars Weekends Stage (In front of The Great Movie Ride) 

Description: While there are Dance Parties throughout Walt Disney World, the DJ Lobot Dance Party is especially wonderful because he mixes in great nods to Star Wars and Walt Disney World attractions. 

Tip: Make sure you at least pass through this Dance Party to get your energy up for the rest of your evening.

Symphony in the Stars (Every weekend – 9:45 pm)

Where: Star Wars Weekends Stage (In front of The Great Movie Ride) 

Description: Bring your day in a galaxy far, far away to an epic conclusion with a finale celebration—Symphony in the Stars! Featuring popular Star Wars characters, it's an interstellar frenzy of fireworks you won't want to miss. 

Tip: For a really unique perspective, grab a fireworks spot away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood Boulevard on Echo Lake facing the Star Wars Weekends Event Stage.

Star Wars Weekends: Dining Options

Building on the popularity of last year's Star Wars Weekends Dining options, there are new locations, additional menu items, and expanded availability at this year's celebration.

Rebel Hanger --- A Star Wars Lounge Experience
Characters: You may find visiting pilots, renegades, and smugglers during Star Wars Weekends
Location: Backlot Express
Price: A la carte menu with prices from $5.49 - $16.99
When: Daily (4:00 pm to 9:00 pm) until June 14, 2015
Description: In an abandoned starship hanger in the Sullust System, you'll find a galactic rest stop for weary travelers that offers highly themed Star Wars food and drinks. It's crazy fun!

Tip: Make sure that you take a moment to walk around the entire restaurant, as there are really great details all around!

Star Wars Dine-In Galactic Breakfast
Characters: Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Greedo, Jawas, and Stormtroopers
Location: Sci Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant
Price: $49.99 for adults, $31.99 for children ages 3-9
When: Daily (8:00 am – 11:00 am) until June 14, 2015
Description: Have breakfast as you meet with characters of Star Wars while watching vintage Star Wars clips and fun sing-alongs in a really unique atmosphere. 

Tip: For some extra fun, make sure you bring something to trade with the Jawas

Jedi Mickey's Star Wars Dine at Hollywood & Vine
Characters: Jedi Mickey, Princess Leia Minnie, Darth Vader Goofy, Storm Trooper Donald, and Ewoks Chip 'n' Dale
Location: Hollywood and Vine Restaurant
Price: $57.99 for adults, $34.99 for children ages 3-9
When: Daily (4:15 pm – 8:00 pm) until June 14, 2015
Description: Mickey and his friends are dressed up in their Star Wars Weekends finest for this buffet experience that is out of this world.  

Tip: Make sure you keep up with what characters have made their way to your table so you won't miss anyone.

Star Wars Weekends: Star Wars Character Meet & Greets

It wouldn't be Star Wars Weekends without an opportunity to meet your favorite Star Wars Characters!

Be on the lookout for interstellar Character Greeting opportunities all across the park, including:

Entertainment and appearances are subject to change, and may be canceled at any time so you will want to check back often at the locations.

Star Wars Weekends: Merchandise

For all your Star Wars Weekends merchandise needs, you will want to visit Darth’s Mall in its new and expanded location near Lights, Motor, Action! on the Streets of America.

The line for Darth's Mall can get to be quite long, so make sure you visit earlier in the day and have your packages sent to the package pick-up so you won't have to carry them throughout the park during your day.

With so much to do during Star Wars Weekends you will definitely want to plan your visit before arriving and consider multiple visits to Disney's Hollywood Studios during the event to experience everything that there is to offer.
