Tropical disturbance fizzles out; showers mainly along eastern counties

Invest 99 L continues to weaken. More shower widespread showers Sunday

The tropical disturbance Invest 99-L continues to lose steam as it travels over Central Florida. On Friday evening, the system briefly showed signs of strengthening, even triggering a tornado warning.
Invest 99 lost much of its punch overnight, but it is still showing some counterclockwise spin in satellite images.

As the system hugs the coastal counties, mainly northern Brevard and Volusia, combined with the day’s heating, there will be some showers igniting over this area. Inland showers will be more sparse and limited Saturday evening.

Sunday's weather forecast
With a strong high pressure system building over the southeastern United States, the disturbance will start on a westerly track, crossing Central Florida very early Sunday. As its "center" moves off land, pulling moisture from the Atlantic, there is a higher chance for showers and scattered storms Sunday. The showers are forecast to start late morning along the coast and by 2 p.m. moving over inland counties.

Your city, your forecast: Hour by hour
Although the low pressure system is set to move well away from Central Florida and fizzle out over the Gulf of Mexico, there will be plenty of moisture streaming from the Atlantic. The continuous flow will set up a stream of showers moving inland, on and off, through late Monday evening.

Winds will also be strong starting Sunday, mainly from the east at 20 mph. They will be slightly higher along the coast. Seas will be rough and there is a high risk of rip currents.
