Teen killed in possible accidental shooting, police say

COCOA BEACH, Fla. — Cocoa Beach police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened Friday night.

According to police, a Satellite Beach teen died of an apparent gunshot wound.

Police said they responded to Cape Canaveral Hospital at about 11 p.m. in reference to a patient with a gunshot wound.

The investigation led to the 150 block of Cedar Avenue, where police believe the shooting occurred.

Police said the shooting appears to be the tragic result of the mishandling of a firearm.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.
