Ralph Navarro said that he is already on his last doses and needs the medication to help him remember things.

“I’ll actually forget mid-sentence what I’m telling you,” he said. “I’ve taken my last week of Adderall that I had and I rationed them out.” he said.

Pharmacists, including pharmacy owner Linda Lazuka, said that they have to be cautious giving the prescription out, since it’s one of the most abused drugs in the U.S.

“Pharmacists are cautious when they say ‘yes, I have it in stock’ because it could be somebody looking to rob you,” she said.

Navarro said that he’s worried about the effects he’ll feel if doesn’t have the medication.

“It’s stressful, it brings tears to my eyes not being able to function with my kids because of medication,” he said.

The FDA said that there are alternative therapies available to health care professionals and their patients.
