Florida has administered more than 1 million COVID-19 vaccines, records show

ORLANDO, Fla. — State records show more than 1 million COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the state.

As of Sunday, 1,007,716 shots have been given out, including 91,819 people who have received both recommended doses.

Records also show 40,974 people who got their first shot are overdue for their second, which is 2,694 fewer than reported Saturday.

Florida reported 11,093 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, including 2,258 people in Central Florida.

Orange County reported the most local cases on Sunday with 741.

State records show 1,571,279 COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Florida since the start of the pandemic.

Florida also reported 135 new virus-related deaths on Sunday, including 36 in Central Florida.
