Pedestrian hit and killed crossing near busy Lake County intersection, troopers say

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating after a pedestrian was killed crossing near a busy Lake County intersection.

The crash happened Sunday around 4:25 a.m. near the intersection of West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway and Town Center Boulevard.

Troopers said a pedestrian was attempting to cross the westbound lanes of U.S. 192, not in a marked crosswalk, when she was hit and killed.

The 37-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and passenger of the car remained at the scene and were not transported to the hospital.

This crash remains under investigation.
