POLK COUNTY, Fla. — The Lakeland Fire Department responded to a structure fire around 4 a.m. Saturday at Stella Avenue.

Fire crews said that 75% of a single-story residential house was covered in flames and heavy smoke.
Seven LFD units, two Polk County Fire Rescue units and several Lakeland Police Department units responded to the call.
Arriving crews searched the property and found no residents inside.

One victim sustained burn injuries to the hands and shoulder, LFD said.

Firefighters were able to attack the fire and bring it under control.
The Lakeland Fire Department is still investigating the fire’s cause.
