ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Commissioners in Orange County will meet Tuesday to discuss a troubled condo complex.

The Tymber Skan on the Lake condos has been plagued by public safety concerns for over 20 years.
Officials said only eight of the 49 original buildings remain at the complex near South Texas Avenue, east of Lake Catherine.

County leaders said they may force owners to sell off the remaining condos.
County officials have labeled Tymber Skan a “health and safety risk " and want the sale to happen so that the area can be cleaned up.

Over the years, the complex has faced significant issues, including fires, infrastructure deterioration, and high crime rates.
It is also where the body of missing college student, 19-year-old Miya Marcano, was found.

County officials went door-to-door in the community last week to inform residents of the potential takeover.
If commissioners vote to initiate receivership, residents will be displaced, but the county promises resources and financial support to help with the transition.
