Downtown Orlando prepares for return of Halloween block party weekend

ORLANDO, Fla. — Halloween celebrations in downtown Orlando this weekend will look a lot like they did before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wall Street Plaza bars were getting ready Friday to welcome the large crowds as the COVID-19 positivity rate in Orange County has gone down to around 4%.

Bar owners expect a solid weekend for business as they prepare for the costume patrons to show up in mass.

Halloween is one of the busiest nights for these businesses.

Last year, beer could not be sold outside but they will be able to do that this year.

Large crowds still flocked to downtown Orlando last year, even with social distancing guidelines in place.

There are about a thousand people expected for a bar crawl going on this weekend.

The one thing that hasn’t changed is a moratorium on noise for the bars, which doesn’t expire until January.
