Girl, 17, dies in head-on crash in Orange County

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating after a 17-year-old Eustis girl was killed in an Orange County crash.

Troopers said the crash happened just before 7 a.m. on Plymouth Sorrento Road and Bosh Road, and involved two vehicles.

They said the driver of a pickup truck was traveling southbound on Plymouth Sorrento Road when, for an unknown reason, he drove into the northbound lanes and struck the front of the 17-year-old’s vehicle head on.

The 17-year-old later died at a hospital, troopers said.

Troopers said the driver of the pickup truck was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The northbound and southbound lanes of Plymouth Sorrento Road were closed for the investigation.

No other details were available.
