Increased deputy presence in South Apopka following 3 recent murders

SOUTH APOPKA, Fla. — Orange County deputies are stepping up their patrol in arts of South Apopka after three recent murders in a week.

Deputies are on horseback and in an SUV patrolling near Ella J. Gilmore Street after two men were fatally shot in the same home less than a week apart.

Before that, 19-year-old Ahmad Davis was found Dec. 30, 2019 between Old Apopka Road and West Orange Trail, about 2 miles away from the home on Ella J. Gilmore Street. Deputies arrested Markese Mosley-McNeil in connection with Davis’ death for allegedly dumping the body and getting rid of evidence.

All three shootings are still under investigation.
