ORLANDO, Fla. — A busy road in downtown Orlando was shut down early Monday due to a deadly hit-and-run crash, according to police.
Just after 5 a.m., police and firefighters responded to the crash in the 900 block of South Orange Avenue.

Firefighters said a pedestrian was killed after an apparent hit-and-run crash.
Officials closed Orange Avenue in both directions between Gore Street and Columbia Street.

The road reopened just before 8 a.m. Monday.
The pedestrian’s identity is not known.
Detectives are still on the scene investigating.
It is not known when the road will reopen.
