ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A state trooper and another driver are hurt after an Orange County crash Saturday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened around 11:40 a.m. on State Road 535 and Vineland Avenue.
A Honda Civic was traveling eastbound on the Interstate 4 exit ramp when an FHP-marked patrol car was traveling southbound on State Road 535. The patrol car then approached the Interstate 4 exit ramp and Vineland Avenue.
The patrol car’s lights and sirens were on as they went through the intersection on their way to a call.
The male Orlando driver of the Honda Civic did not see the patrol car and as a result, the patrol car struck them.
Both the 40-year-old Honda Civic driver and the FHP trooper were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
The roadblock on State Road 535 and Vineland Avenue was cleared around 1 p.m.
FHP is still investigating the crash.
