The museum’s Access for All event includes gallery talks, live performances, sketching and guided tours

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Museum of Art will offer free admission and extended hours Thursday, Aug. 20, as part of its monthly Access for All program.

The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Visitors can explore its current exhibitions and participate in several free activities throughout the day.

Thursday is also the final day to vote for the Florida Prize in Contemporary Art People’s Choice Award. The exhibition closes Sunday, Aug. 23.

The schedule includes:

  • 2:30 p.m.: Gallery talk with the museum’s curatorial team
  • 4 p.m.: Performance of Magnificent Aurora Fallen To Earth
  • 5 to 7 p.m.: Sketching in the galleries
  • 5:30 p.m.: Second performance of Magnificent Aurora Fallen To Earth
  • 7 p.m.: Docent-led highlights tour
  • By 8 p.m.: Final opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice Award

The immersive play Magnificent Aurora Fallen To Earth was written by Florida Prize artist Mette Tommerup and will be performed by Phantasmagoria Unplugged.

The monthly Access for All program is supported by the Art Bridges Foundation. No paid admission is required Thursday.
