Owner of Orlando's Glitz Ultra Lounge files bankruptcy after deadly shooting

ORLANDO, Fla. — Almost a year after two people were killed and 10 others wounded at Glitz Ultra Lounge in Orlando, the owner of the property has filed bankruptcy.

The move could impact some of the 300 people who planned to take legal action against the club following the Feb. 7, 2016 shooting.

According to records, the club’s owner, Setay McKnight, is nearly $400,000 in debt.

In court filings, he claims he is unmarried, unemployed and was going to give up the only vehicle he owned, a $65,000 Nissan.

People at the club when two groups got into a fight and opened fire told Channel 9 that they had gone to attorneys for possible legal action against the club.

If the bankruptcy goes through, though, may be useless, WFTV legal analyst Bill Shaeffer said.

“If this discharge in bankruptcy is successful, it may act as a bar to the survivors successfully recovering any money,” he said.
