ORLANDO, Fla. — The Tiger Bay Club of Central Florida has named longtime civic and business leader Sam Stark its new executive director.
The appointment is effective immediately, the nonpartisan political organization announced Thursday.
Stark is the founder and CEO of Orlando-based consulting firm Stark Impact. He previously served as vice president of athletics, communications and external relations at Rollins College, where he oversaw government and community relations, communications, branding, events and athletics.
His previous leadership roles include serving as president and CEO of the Central Florida Sports Commission and Winter Park Chamber of Commerce. He was also the founding executive director of the Chicago Sports Commission and president and CEO of Orlando marketing agency Moxé.
“Sam knows Central Florida, and Central Florida knows Sam,” Tiger Bay Club President Rebekah Hurd said. “He has spent his career bringing people together across business, government, education and the nonprofit sector.”
Stark said he plans to focus on growing the club’s membership, expanding its programs and attracting a new generation of civic leaders.
“Tiger Bay has long been the place where Central Florida’s political leaders come to ask hard questions and hear direct answers,” Stark said. “I’m honored to serve an organization that puts respectful debate and civic engagement at the center of community life.”
Stark graduated from Rollins College with a degree in politics and served as the school’s student body president. He has also held leadership and advisory roles with several Central Florida business, education, healthcare and nonprofit organizations.
The Tiger Bay Club holds monthly presentations, debates and candidate forums featuring elected officials, journalists and other political figures. The organization does not endorse candidates or take positions on political issues.
