Rally in Apopka calls for end to recent violence after third person arrested in West Orange Trail murder case

APOPKA, Fla. — A rally held Saturday called for an end to the recent violence in Apopka after a third person was arrested in the West Orange Trail murder case.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said Tyquarius Smith, 19, faces a first-degree murder charge in the shooting death of Ahmad Davis, 19.

Davis’ body was found on the West Orange Trail on the 1900 block of Old Apopka Road on Dec. 30, 2019.

Deputies arrested Markese Mosely-McNeil and Keyshawn Epps about a week after the murder.

Deputies said there are no outstanding suspects in the case.

Ameer Davis, the founder of Stop the Violence, said the group “tried to raise awareness to the people in the community and let them know somebody is watching, somebody does care.”
