Best Buy, Target to be closed on Thanksgiving

More stores are giving their employees a day to spend with family and friends and will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

Best Buy is the latest retailer to join the movement to turn off the lights on the holiday, reopening in time for Black Friday sales.

The company said customers will still be able to shop through BestBuy.com and its app during the holiday hours.

The store will start holiday hours on Oct. 30 opening from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and then 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays.

Best Buy is still hiring seasonal help for stores and distribution centers with a starting wage of $15 an hour with the average hourly wage for current employees being $18 an hour.

Target will also be closed once again this Thanksgiving after announcing that it was making the COVID-19 pandemic closures of 2019 and 2020 permanent starting last year, according to several media reports.

Target is also hiring seasonal workers again this year, looking to employ 100,000 people this year, Reuters reported last month. To see what positions are available, visit Target’s jobs website.
