ORLANDO, Fla. — A Florida author has turned seven years of RV travel into a new children’s picture-book series inspired by his family’s real-life adventures.
Tampa Bay-area author Jeff Evans released Bella & Mandy’s RV Adventures: Off We Go! on Oct. 6.
The book follows two dogs with different approaches to adventure. Bella is curious and eager to explore, while Mandy is more cautious about leaving familiar surroundings.
When their family moves into an RV, the dogs begin traveling across America together. The story explores change, friendship and the idea that courage can mean trying something new while still feeling afraid.
“Adventure isn’t about being fearless,” Evans said. “It’s about being curious enough and brave enough to take the next step.”
The characters are based on Evans’ real dogs, Bella, a Cavapoo, and Mandy, a Maltipoo. Evans and his wife, Cathy, spent seven years traveling across the country with them in an RV.
The 46-page book was illustrated by Mohamed Daamouche and is intended for children ages 3 to 8. It is available in paperback for $14.99, hardcover for $24.99 and as an e-book for $4.99.
Evans said future installments will take Bella and Mandy to new destinations while exploring themes including resilience, problem-solving and adapting to change.
