LEESBURG, Fla. — A television series produced in Central Florida is returning for a seventh season focused on the experiences of neurodiverse individuals and their families.
“A World of Difference: Embracing Neurodiversity” will premiere Saturday, Sept. 5, at 6 p.m. on WUCF TV. Episodes will also stream free nationwide through the PBS app.
The series is produced in Leesburg by Beacon College, an accredited college that serves students with learning differences.
The 11-episode season will explore anxiety, experiential learning, finding the right educational environment and the college experience for students who learn differently.
Producers said the new season will use a more observational approach, capturing families’ daily routines, relationships, challenges and accomplishments as they unfold.
Featured guests will include autistic actor and filmmaker Tal Anderson, X Games medalist Alex Hackel, former Michigan State basketball player Anthony Ianni and Florida attorney and disability advocate Haley Moss.
The premiere will feature Brandie and Daniel D’Orazio, who founded The Promise School in South Carolina to support students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences.
“A World of Difference” launched in 2020 and has received five Telly Awards, three Anthem Awards and other recognition.
Most new episodes will air on the first Saturday and following Friday of each month. Viewers can check WUCF’s schedule for airtimes or watch previous episodes through PBS.
