ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Friends of a local hockey fan who was allegedly killed by her husband are urging domestic violence victims to get help before it’s too late.
Tina Marie Zollo, a scorekeeper at the RDV Sportsplex Ice Den, was killed in her home May 29. Orlando police said her husband, Richard Parnis, called a co-worker, then 911, reporting he shot and killed his wife.
Officers say it looked like she was shot five times.

Advocates of domestic violence victims feared and warned the pandemic could spur an increase in abuse.
Harbor House reports 1,072 hotline calls since March, a drop from last year. That could possibly be attributed to victims and abusers having less time apart, so it’s harder for victims to call for help.
A plaque is now in the scorekeepers box saying, “May you always have the best seat in the house.” Central Florida hockey officials are selling patches and helmet stickers in memory of Zollo. Proceeds will go to local domestic violence groups.
Her husband, Richard Parnis, is facing a first-degree murder charge. He entered a not-guilty plea and waived his right to an arraignment. He is being held at the Orange County Jail without bail.
